Homecoming June 3rd 2012
We are blessed to have Dr. Rick Lanford joining us for Homecoming this year. Dr. Lanford served as pastor of Mansfield UMC in 1982 & 1983. Dr. Lanford was Vice President of Development for The Methodist Home for 13 years before moving full-time to The Foundation of The Methodist Home in 2007. As a child welfare advocate, he has served as a Commissioner for the Georgia Children’s Trust Fund Commission and as a board member for Georgia Association for Homes and Services for Children Foundation. His background includes experience with budgets and fundraising in churches as well as serving on various local and state boards, including serving as past national chair of the section on Public Relations, Development, and Marketing of the United Methodist Association. Lanford is an active member in the Macon Exchange Club; on the Macon-Bibb County Law Enforcement Foundation Board; and Chairs the Investment Committee for the South Georgia Conference Trustees for the United Methodist Church and the Disciple Covenant Conference Team. He currently serves as the Senior Law Enforcement Chaplain for Homeland Security under the Office of the Governor. He has completed training for Fund Raising and Estate Planning and also conducts trainings on fundraising and planned giving. As an experienced trainer, Dr. Lanford teaches workshops on fund-raising, motivation and team building.
